Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Cupcakes
Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with buttermilk and water. Mix until just combined.
Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire rack.
Step 2: Make the Buttercream Frosting
In a large bowl, beat the butter on medium speed until creamy.
Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing on low speed until combined.
Add vanilla extract and heavy cream, one tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached. Beat on high for 2-3 minutes until fluffy.
Step 3: Decorate the Cupcakes
Frost the cooled cupcakes using a piping bag or spatula.
Sprinkle generously with colorful sprinkles.
Just before serving, insert sparklers into each cupcake. Light them carefully to dazzle your guests.
